I am trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBST) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). All are meant to assist my patients in moving forward towards their desired outcome and personal goals. I teach strategies to assist my patients in letting go of old habits and mindsets that are holding them back from achieving a calmer future oriented outlook.
Currently I accept cash payments via various methods, as well as through ESA and Class wallet for my younger patients.
Valley of the Sun Psychology is dedicated to promoting mental wellness and compassionate care to those who are needing support to move forward from being stuck. Specializing in disability awareness, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Therapy.
SFBT therapists aim to bring out the skills, strengths, and abilities that clients already
possess rather than attempting to build new competencies from scratch. This
assumption of a client’s competence is one of the reasons this therapy can be
administered in a short timeframe—it is much quicker to harness the resources clients
already have than to create and nurture new resources.
A person who is practicing mindfulness has a heightened self-awareness. They self-monitor so that they are aware of their thoughts and emotional state. They have higher levels of body awareness. And they have a mindful awareness of their present circumstances, inc luding the people around them.
